Many stories are possible – and everyone would tell them differently. The viewer is given hardly any guidelines, save for the figurative elements lying on the canvas – or the dissecting table. It is up to the viewer to decide what bridges to build between them, or which ones to tear down. Bettina Hauke´s surreal images thus remain timeless, always offering a fresh start.
